This page describes what Co-Sport places on your device, and what it does not. It also explains why you do not see a consent banner when you arrive on the site: this is not an oversight, it is the consequence of a technical choice.
1.Principle: strictly necessary only
We only set cookies that are essential to the service: keeping you signed in, remembering your language, protecting forms. No advertising cookies, no behavioural tracking cookies, no third-party audience measurement trackers.
Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent under the applicable rules. That is why no banner is shown to you: there is nothing to accept or refuse.
3.Audience measurement without trackers
We measure traffic to the site without writing anything to your device. The method is as follows:
- No cookie, no local storage and no persistent identifier are used for this purpose.
- A fingerprint is computed on the fly from a random secret, your IP address and your browser.
- That secret changes every day and is never saved: the same visitor's fingerprint differs the next day, and linking the two days is technically impossible, including for us.
- Your IP address is never kept in clear text: only its form truncated to the network prefix is stored.
- Detailed records are erased after 90 days; only aggregated statistics remain, from which no one can be identified.
This approach matches the conditions set by the French data protection authority for audience measurement exempt from consent. It makes it possible to count visits, never to follow a person over time.
4.Browser local storage
The app may remember certain preferences directly in your browser, without that information reaching us:
- Display: active tab, filters, collapsed sections.
- Unsent drafts, so they are not lost if a window is closed by accident.
- Cached data to speed up display when offline.
5.Third-party content
Some pages display content from third parties, which may receive your IP address simply because it is displayed:
- Base maps and route data, needed to display the mapping features.
- Weather data and avalanche bulletins, on the pages that show them.
- Embedded videos, where a piece of content includes one.
6.Managing cookies
You remain in control of your browser:
- You can view, block or delete cookies from its privacy settings.
- You can also clear the site's local storage.
- Signing out removes the session cookie.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies prevents authentication: you will no longer be able to stay signed in.
