These terms govern access to and use of the Co-Sport platform. By creating an account, you accept them in full. They are supplemented by the privacy policy, the cookie policy and, for any purchase, by the terms of sale.

1.Purpose

Co-Sport is an online service, available through a website and a mobile app, that connects people who practise a physical activity. It lets you find training partners, log your sessions, publish content, talk to other members, buy and sell equipment between individuals, and book sessions with sports professionals.

2.Definitions

Throughout this document:

  • "Platform" means the co-sport.com website, the Co-Sport mobile app and all related services.
  • "Member" means any individual who holds an account.
  • "Content" means anything published by a member: text, photo, video, GPS track, review, message, listing, training session.
  • "Coach" means a member offering sports services on a professional basis, once their credentials have been checked.
  • "Listing" means an offer of sports partnership, an event or an equipment sale published by a member.
  • "We", "Co-Sport" mean the publisher of the platform, identified in the legal notice.

3.Services offered

Depending on the features enabled on your account, the platform brings together:

  • Searching for training partners and publishing sports listings.
  • Training tracking: sessions, exercises, sets, loads, personal records and statistics.
  • An automated training assistant ("AI coach") that generates advice and programmes.
  • Route and climbing maps, drawn in particular from the collaborative Camptocamp database, with logged outings and weather data.
  • A social feed: posts, comments, likes, ephemeral stories and follows between members.
  • Private messaging between members.
  • A second-hand equipment marketplace between individuals, and a race bib transfer service.
  • Paid coaching sessions booked with listed professionals.
  • Optional synchronisation of activities recorded on Strava.
  • Camera-based movement analysis on your phone, counting repetitions and estimating execution quality during certain exercises.

These services change over time. We may add, alter or withdraw features; substantial changes are announced beforehand, as set out in the "Changes to these terms" section.

4.Registration

Opening an account requires that you meet the following conditions:

  • Be at least 16 years old. Minors must have the permission of the holder of parental authority.
  • Provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information, in particular your email address.
  • Hold only one personal account. Multiple accounts used to circumvent a block or a sanction are prohibited.
  • Keep your credentials confidential and report any unauthorised access to us without delay.
  • Accept these terms and the privacy policy. That acceptance is time-stamped and retained as evidence.

5.Minors

The platform is not intended for children under 16. If we learn that an account has been opened by a younger person without parental permission, it is closed and the associated data deleted. The holder of parental authority may write to us at any time to request that closure.

Please note: age verification currently relies solely on what the member declares. This check needs to be strengthened, particularly for access to selling and messaging features.

6.Your account

You alone are responsible for how your account is used. Accordingly:

  • You may not transfer, lend or resell your account.
  • Any action taken from your account is deemed to be yours, unless fraudulent access has been reported without delay.
  • You may view, correct and export your information from your settings at any time.
  • You may delete your account at any time, without giving a reason and without going through our support team.

7.Free and paid services

Access to the platform is currently free. Some features may be offered on a paid basis: subscription, coaching sessions booked with a professional, or promoted listings.

Any paid service is governed by the terms of sale, which prevail over these terms in everything concerning price, ordering, payment, withdrawal and refunds.

8.Member content

You remain the owner of the content you publish and you alone are responsible for it. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights, in particular over photos and videos featuring other people.

For as long as is necessary to run the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, technically adapt and display your content on the platform, within the visibility settings you have chosen yourself. This licence ends when the content or your account is deleted, subject to retention required by law.

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Hate speech, discrimination or incitement to hatred.
  • Violence, threats and shocking content.
  • Harassment, intimidation and any abusive behaviour towards a member.
  • Unlawful content or the promotion of unlawful activities, including doping.
  • Spam, unsolicited advertising, automated data extraction and circumvention of technical limits.
  • Impersonation, fake profiles and false professional credentials.
  • Publishing personal information about someone else without their consent.
  • Sexual content, and any content involving a minor in an inappropriate context.
  • Advice that is dangerous to health, particularly regarding nutrition, weight loss or returning from injury.

9.Moderation and reporting

The platform provides reporting tools and human moderation. The process works as follows:

  • Any member can report content or a profile from the interface, in a few clicks.
  • Reports are reviewed as quickly as possible, prioritising those that concern people's safety.
  • A reasoned decision is taken: keep, remove the content, or take action against the account concerned.
  • The member concerned is informed of the decision and the reasons behind it, and may challenge it.

In accordance with the European Digital Services Act, a point of contact is available to users and authorities; its details appear in the legal notice. Every removal or restriction decision is reasoned and may be challenged through a free internal appeal.

10.Sanctions

If these terms are breached, the following measures may be taken, depending on how serious and how repeated the conduct is:

  • A warning, for a first minor breach.
  • Removal or hiding of the content in question.
  • Temporary suspension of some or all features.
  • Permanent closure of the account, for serious or repeated breaches.

Any measure may be challenged free of charge with our support team within six months. The review is carried out by someone other than the person who took the original decision, and the answer is reasoned.

11.Blocking another member

You may block a member at any time, without giving a reason. Blocking has the following effects:

  • They can no longer write to you or start a conversation with you.
  • They can no longer interact with your posts, listings or events.
  • They can no longer challenge you or join groups you own.
  • Your content stops being shown to them, and theirs stops being shown to you.

12.Sport and safety

Co-Sport is a matching and tracking platform. It does not organise sports activities and does not supervise how they take place. You practise at your own risk.

  • It is for you to make sure your state of health is compatible with the activity you intend, and to seek medical advice if in doubt.
  • It is for you to assess your level, the equipment required, the weather conditions and the chosen route before setting off.
  • Route information, grades, snow conditions and weather are provided for guidance only, come from third parties or other members, and cannot replace your own assessment of the terrain.
  • It is for you to check your insurance cover, particularly for mountain activities and air sports.
  • The training content on the platform — exercise sheets, instructions, demonstration videos, generated programmes — is strictly informational. It is neither medical advice nor professional sports supervision, and does not replace guidance from a qualified person. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, breathing difficulty or faintness.

Mountain activities, climbing, mountaineering, ski touring and free flight carry a risk of serious or fatal injury. No information published on the platform constitutes a safety guarantee, and none replaces proper training and supervision.

13.Meeting other members

The platform lets you contact other members and agree with them on an outing, a session or a meeting. These meetings are arranged by the members themselves and take place off the platform: Co-Sport is neither their organiser, nor their supervisor, nor a guide.

  • We do not verify members' identity, sporting level or background. A filled-in profile is not a vetted profile.
  • Before a first meeting, choose a busy place, tell someone close to you where and when, and keep an independent means of communication.
  • In the mountains, at sea or in free flight, check that the level, equipment and commitment announced match reality, and never hesitate to turn back.
  • You remain free to decline, cancel or leave a meeting at any time, without having to justify yourself.
  • Report any worrying profile, message or behaviour: reports concerning people's safety are handled first, and blocking a member takes effect immediately.

Disputes arising from a meeting, a training partnership, a coaching service or a sale between members are settled between the people concerned. We provide reporting, blocking and moderation tools, and we act when behaviour breaches these terms; that action is a moderation measure and does not make us a party to the dispute.

We take reasonable steps to limit risk: reviewing reports, moderation, blocking, exclusion. We cannot, however, guarantee a member's behaviour off the platform, nor the safety of an activity we do not organise.

14.Automated training assistant

The AI coach produces automatically generated suggestions based on the information you enter: goals, session history, body measurements and any injury history.

  • Its answers may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuited to your situation: treat them as a starting point, never as an instruction.
  • Conversations are processed by a third-party technical provider; details are set out in the privacy policy.
  • You may stop using this feature at any time and ask for the associated conversations to be deleted.

The AI coach provides no medical advice, no diagnosis and no prescription. If you experience pain or injury, or have a known condition, are pregnant or under treatment, consult a healthcare professional.

15.Camera-based movement analysis

In the mobile app, some exercises can be followed by your device's camera: movement is detected in real time to count repetitions, estimate an execution score and give you feedback during the set.

  • The analysis relies on an automatic estimate of body position. It depends on lighting, framing, clothing and body shape, and it can be wrong: a high score does not guarantee that the movement is safe, and a low score does not mean it is dangerous.
  • The feedback shown or spoken during the set, including anything mentioning a risk of injury, consists of automatic prompts. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, a postural assessment or a rehabilitation protocol.
  • Image processing happens on your device. No photo or video is sent to our servers or kept by us: only the numerical results of the session (repetitions, durations, scores, estimated calories) are sent to us.
  • It is up to you to make sure the camera does not capture other people without their agreement, particularly in a shared space.
  • You alone judge the load, the range of motion and when to stop. The feature can be turned off at any time; the exercise can still be logged manually.

Training alone in front of a camera does not replace a spotter or a supervisor, especially on loaded movements. Stop the exercise immediately if you feel pain, and never chase a score at the expense of your safety.

16.Sales between members

The marketplace and bib transfer service let members sell or transfer equipment and race entries to one another.

  • Co-Sport is not a party to these transactions: the contract is concluded directly between seller and buyer.
  • The seller is responsible for the accuracy of their listing, the conformity of the item and its delivery.
  • Sales that breach the law or the event organiser's rules, in particular unauthorised bib resales, are prohibited.
  • Disputes between members are settled between them; we may step in as moderators where a listing or a behaviour breaches these terms.

17.Coaching services

Listed professionals offer paid sessions through the platform.

  • The coach is an independent provider. They alone are responsible for the content, quality and safety of their service.
  • They declare that they hold the required qualifications, licences and insurance; we check the documents they submit, without standing in for the competent authorities.
  • Co-Sport acts as a technical intermediary and takes a commission on sessions booked through the platform.
  • Pricing, cancellation and refund terms are set out in the terms of sale.

18.Connecting to Strava

If you wish, you can link your Strava account in order to import your activities.

  • This link is optional and requires your explicit authorisation, given on Strava's side.
  • Imported data is subject to Strava's own terms in addition to these terms.
  • You may revoke the authorisation at any time, from your Co-Sport settings or from your Strava account.

19.Intellectual property

The platform, its visual identity, its databases, its texts and its code are protected. Any reproduction, extraction or reuse, in whole or in part, without written permission, is prohibited.

Some content comes from collaborative databases under open licences, in particular routes from Camptocamp and exercise illustrations. Their respective licences apply and are stated where that content is displayed.

20.Liability

We take reasonable steps to provide a reliable and secure service. However:

  • We do not review member content before publication and are not its author.
  • We are not responsible for the relationships, meetings, transactions and sports activities arranged between members, which take place away from the platform.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of information published by members or third-party sources, nor uninterrupted availability of the service.
  • We remain liable for damage directly attributable to us, under the general law.

In respect of content published by members, we act as a hosting service provider within the meaning of Article 6-I-2 of the French Act on confidence in the digital economy and Article 6 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065. We are under no general obligation to monitor content; we act promptly to remove manifestly unlawful content, or content contrary to these terms, as soon as we become aware of it, following the procedure described in the article “Moderation and reporting”.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to consumers by law, or excludes our liability in the event of gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury.

21.Service availability

The platform is provided without any guarantee of permanent availability. It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or security reasons; we aim to announce planned interruptions in advance and to keep them short.

22.Termination

The relationship ends in any of the following cases:

  • At your initiative, by deleting your account from your settings, on the website as well as in the app, without contacting support.
  • At our initiative, in the event of a serious or repeated breach of these terms, after informing the member and offering a right of appeal.
  • If the service is permanently discontinued, with reasonable notice so that everyone can retrieve their data.

What happens to your data after the account is deleted — what is erased, what is anonymised, what the law requires us to keep — is described in detail in the privacy policy.

23.Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms, in particular to reflect changes in the service or in regulations. Any substantial change is notified to you and your acceptance is collected again; if you do not accept, you remain free to delete your account and export your data.

Each version is identified by its date and retained: the version you accepted, and the date of that acceptance, are recorded and can be provided to you on request.

24.Complaints and disputes

We always favour an amicable resolution. Send your complaint to the contact address given in the legal notice: we undertake to answer it.

If you are a consumer and our answer does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator. Their details appear in the legal notice and in the terms of sale.

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you retain the benefit of the mandatory provisions of your country of residence and the right to bring proceedings before the court of your domicile.

25.Contact

For any question about these terms, write to the address given in the legal notice or use the contact form on the site.
